As healthcare systems advance through digital transformation, achieving interoperability across Health Information Systems (HIS) relies on skilled professionals who enable effective integration and data exchange. Under the scope of the Xpanding Innovative Alliance (XiA) project, this article introduces a Reference Model for Interoperability Skills that defines the core skills needed by professionals to support interoperable digital health ecosystems. Through a systematic literature review, the model provides a structured view of competencies across professional profiles, grounded in international best practices. The proposed model serves as a strategic tool for workforce development, curriculum design, and organizational capability assessment. By promoting a shared understanding of interoperability, it supports the creation of a skilled, adaptable, and collaborative workforce capable of advancing integrated, data-driven healthcare across Europe.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) has become a very popular topic in information technology because this approach allows the employees to bring their personal devices into the organisation and they want to use them to access the organisation information. This trend has some benefits for the organisation and for employees. This paper aims to identify those benefits as well the advantages and disadvantages of BYOD usage in the organisation. Also, it is present a SWOT analysis of BYOD usage. It is introduced an approach to BYOD in healthcare also. Utilising personal devices at work is beneficial to organisational employees because they are in some way satisfied, and they have more freedom and choice to use their devices. This liberty and choice can easily lead the employees to be more productive and flexible. The organisation who embraces BYOD policies noticed that their employees are happier, more productive, and more collaborative.

Hospital 4.0 enables the paradigm of personalized healthcare services to be increasingly easy and more effective by using emerging technologies. Multichannel interaction services aim precisely to take advantage of this trend by introducing a multichannel interaction model that enables interaction between different health service actors (patients, nurses, doctors, administrative staff, pharmaceutics, technicians) across multiple channels and in different contexts without losing information. In this article, a model is idealized and proposed in which all main the actors that belong to health service are identified. The model aims to present what would be the multichannel interaction in a health context to improve the services provided to patients as well as their relationship with a health organization.

In recent years, there has been a strong adherence to the digitization, integration, and modernization of health services by care providers. This trend has already demonstrated its potential in several aspects of the health services made available to patients through different interaction channels. Although this practice is full of benefits for the different actors involved, it raises many issues related to the interoperability between the channels and the health services available in them, as well as the security and privacy issues of the data that are transmitted during the interactions between patients and health professionals across multiple channels. With this increasing dependence on technology, healthcare organizations need to look for new solutions capable of solving the enumerated problems. This article intends to study these issues and identify possible solutions that the care provider should adopt to overcome any problems that may arise with the integration of multichannel interaction in health services.

The processing of information in real-time (through the processing of complex events) has become an essential task for the optimal functioning of manufacturing plants. Only in this way can artificial intelligence, data extraction, and even business intelligence techniques be applied, and the data produced daily be used in a beneficent way, enhancing automation processes and improving service delivery. Therefore, professionals and researchers need a wide range of tools to extract, transform, and load data in real-time efficiently. Additionally, the same tool supports or at least facilitates the visualization of this data intuitively and interactively. The review presented in this document aims to provide an up-to-date review of the various tools available to perform these tasks. Of the selected tools, a brief description of how they work, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of their use, will be presented. Furthermore, a critical analysis of overall operation and performance will be presented. Finally, a hybrid architecture that aims to synergize all tools and technologies is presented and discussed.

A multichannel interaction service is a practice whereby organizations communicate and interact with their existing customers and potential new customers through different channels. This article presents a brief case study of multichannel interaction in healthcare services, which studies the viability of continuous multichannel interaction for personalized healthcare services to enable health professionals to follow up and monitor patients in home-based care. Furthermore, this study aims to explore the possibility of the continuity and complementarity of the interactions across different communication channels with the patients. The data used for this study was gathered during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study showed that despite this type of interaction being relatively new in healthcare services, it has considerable potential for improving the relationship between patients, health professionals, and care providers. Upon completion of the data analysis, several conclusions were drawn. One such conclusion was the ability to maintain continuity of interaction across multiple channels, as well as the synergy between the different channels of interaction available to patients and the impact this has on the way patients and health professionals interact. Additionally, it was determined that the complementarity of different interaction channels is crucial when implementing multichannel interaction services. Furthermore, the implementation of this solution resulted in improved communication between patients and health professionals. Also, it has decreased health professional’s workload and reduced care providers costs regarding remote patient follow-up.

Multichannel interaction services have grown and evolved a lot in many sectors and their potential has been demonstrated in terms of monitoring and engaging with customers. In healthcare, has a tremendous impact on health organization as well to patients. In a multichannel interaction, environment patients can interact with health professionals across many channels without losing previous interactions, i.e. patients have a continuity of services across different channels. This paper aims to introduce a conceptual model of multichannel interaction in healthcare services. The model addresses all main actors involved in the process of multichannel interaction. The model proposed was validated through a proof of concept with a proposed artefact designed during the pandemic of new coronavirus COVID-19.

Since its origin in finance, blockchain have been revolutionizing data storage and sharing in many other sensitive areas. Being the focus of Permissioned Blockchains around privacy, confidentiality, immutability, interoperability and reliability, it fits perfectly within the data requisites of healthcare. Even more, with the surge of new iterations of more recent implementations based on smart-contracts/chaincode that has its focus on increasing efficiency and usability and ease of implementation. Intensive Medicine an area with such high data complexity and throughput, and high incidence of medical error and patient injury. As such, it’s imperative the continuous research and implementation of new technologies that can make pertinent knowledge available through reliable and accurate data, thus providing appropriate problem-solving skills to physicians. This paper presents a solution, as part of the Intelligence Decision Support Systems for Intensive Medicine (ICDS4IM) project, which objective is to increase accuracy, confidentiality and value to data from vital sensors and monitors by assuring its immutability and controlled oversee.
